You Must Walk the Path

“No one saves us but ourselves. No one can and no one may. We ourselves must walk the path.” Buddha

Ah, here we go with that self-reliance stuff, but unfortunately it is the truth. The only person that can save you, is you. The only person that can make you happy, is you. The only person who can create the kind of life you dream about, is you. Yes, there is a you theme going on. Unfortunately, we are living in the dark age of materialism. We are tempted daily and the lure of material wealth distracts from the thirst in your soul. We all need material possessions, but it is the obsessive pursuit that robs you of your peace. This distracts you from the goal of living in the moment because you are always stressing out about what you think you need. It also distracts you from the goal of living in a state of mind that goes beyond petty discrimination and seeing the Divine in everything and everyone. (And I know at times it is difficult. Trust me. I have employees who often do brain dead stuff.) Following the seven steps of The Way will help you stay in the moment. If you choose to walk this path, be kind to yourself. Start with baby steps. Let your mind surrender to the everlasting present. When you are mindful and living simply, you see the interconnectivity of all living things.
