What practice can you incorporate into your daily life that will help you connect with your Divine Self? What is your Divine Self? Your Divine Self is the part of God/Divine/Soul that is part of you. But oftentimes we get so busy that we do not connect with our truest essence. We’re too busy working, consuming, and surviving that we forget who we really are. Here are some ideas: First thing in the morning give thanks by listing the things that you are grateful for. I always start the day with e.e.cummings poem: “ i thank You God for most this amazing day: for the leaping greenly spirits of trees
and a blue true dream of sky;and for everything which is natural which is infinite which is yes.”
You may not resonate with e.e. cummings, so here are some other ideas. Go outside into your garden. Stand facing the east and inhale and exhale, raising your arms then lowering them for eight counts. Feel the life growing outside. Take your morning coffee, tea, or lemon water and your journal and favorite pen. Sit in a comfortable chair and free write. Let your soul talk to you. Listen as you write. Practice some basic yoga stretches. Breathe in deeply and exhale. Quiet your mind. Be here now. Listen intently. Recite familiar childhood prayers. Light a candle. Sit in lotus position and meditate. When the mind tries to distract you, gently acknowledge the distraction and let it go. Play music and let your soul dance and sing. You’ll amaze yourself.
